You can only start reporting in PERT once your employment has been approved and you have a reporting status of ‘In Progress’.
For your employment to be approved, you will create a profile in PERT, enter Experience Verification as your Experience Route and enter your Mentor’s email address, your PER status at this time will be ‘Pre-Assessment Required’.
You will be directed to document your employment by creating a Current Experience report in PERT with your employment start date. Fill in all of the fields on the CREATE EXPERIENCE REPORT page, leaving the End Date and the Leave Taken (days) fields BLANK, and click SAVE.
You will be required to attach your Job Description on company letterhead in a non-editable format to your pre-assessment experience report on the ATTACHMENTS page. If that Job Description does not contain confirmation of your employment start date, an additional non-editable letter confirming your employment start date on company letterhead and signed by your supervisor must also be attached.
You will not enter any technical and enabling competencies in your pre-assessment experience report, as this report will only be used to pre-assess your position.
Once you have documented your employment and uploaded the required attachments, you must submit your employment information by requesting a Pre-assessment CPA Review. See guidance in the PERT Guide for Future CPAs, found in the Resources section of PERT, for guidance on requesting a Pre-assessment CPA Review.
Once your pre-assessment is reviewed by CPA Alberta, or if additional information is required, you will receive a system-generated email from PERT.
Without an experience report containing your job start date and the required attachments, and without adding your mentor in PERT, your employment cannot be approved, and your reporting status cannot be set to ‘In Progress”.
