Throughout his vibrant career, Brian Hesje FCPA, FCA progressed through many positions in accounting and business, culminating with his tenure as CEO and Chair of Fountain Tire. He dedicated much of his life to serving multiple public and private boards, and donating to many initiatives in educational, professional, and recreational spheres. His generous donation of $1 million to the CPA Education Foundation led to the creation of the Hesje CPA Knowledge Centre, which Brian hoped would inspire students to pursue the CPA designation, showcase the expertise of CPAs, and enable the public to gain wisdom from one of the province’s most valued groups of professionals—CPAs.
In 2019, Brian was awarded the CPA Education Foundation’s Impact Award, which honours an individual for his/her contributions to the work and goals of the Foundation. He was also the deserving recipient of CPA Alberta’s Distinguished Service Award, the Fellowship honour, and the Lifetime Achievement Award—in addition to a plethora of prestigious honours outside of CPA Alberta.
