Tax Preparation Program FAQs

All taxpayer information has been vetted through CPA Alberta and the client’s Community Partner Tax Clinic contact. If there are any questions, please contact CPA Alberta.

CPA Alberta understands that there is unpredictability in everyone’s life. If you find yourself in a situation where you are unable to complete your assigned returns, please contact CPA Alberta.

Please contact CPA Alberta if you are unable to complete your assigned returns within five business days.

Under no circumstances are you permitted to use the tax software outside the Tax Clinic Program. If you wish to use the software for personal use, you can purchase a copy here.

Violation of this agreement could result in fines and/or the discontinued use of the software at future tax clinics. Failure to respect these guidelines could result in being dismissed from current and future volunteer programs.

CPA Alberta requires CPAs and CPA PEP candidates to have at least three years of tax preparation experience. For CPAs and CPA PEP candidates with less than three years of tax preparation experience, becoming a mentee may be an option.

ProFile access will be provided to all volunteers once returns have been assigned.

If you have a trail version, it will need to be upgraded to the full version. CPA Alberta will be providing an access key to all volunteers for a full version once files have been assigned.
