Professional Services

In today's complex world, our members are often faced with resolving challenging issues on which a second, confidential opinion may be of benefit. The Professional Services program can provide this valuable second opinion. The mandate of the department is to advise and assist all members in meeting their responsibilities to clients, employers and the public. The emphasis is on providing early, confidential advice and assistance for members and/or firms to consider, in an effort to avoid more serious and costly problems—such as litigation claims, legal costs, and complaints requiring disciplinary action—down the road.

Services include advisory and consultation services about technical, professional, and ethical issues on topics of interest, regular publications including Member Advisories and Public Practice Bulletins on critical topics, and online postings of relevant material, as well as other valuable services for CPAs and CPA candidates across all employment sectors.

For feedback, questions, or comments on any of these professional services, please email advisory@cpaalberta.ca.
