Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is learning that develops and maintains professional competence to enable members to continue to perform their professional roles. Any learning and development that is relevant and appropriate to a member’s work, professional responsibilities, and growth as a CPA will qualify for CPD.

Kindly note, all terms and conditions apply to all registrations and purchases.

Registrations and Payment

Registrations are accepted online only. We do not invoice for course registrations.

Full payment is required at the time of registration. Credit card (American Express, MasterCard, and Visa) are the accepted methods of payment. All fees are subject to PST, HST or GST.

Live Virtual Course registrations, along with full payment, must be received up to one (1) full business day prior to the course start date.

In-Person Course registrations, along with full payment, must be received up to three (3) full business days prior to the course start date.

 

Registration Cancellation, Transfers, and Refunds

 All cancellations and/or transfers must be received in writing at pdregistration@cpaalberta.ca. or by calling 1.800.232.9406.

Full refund to a store credit will be granted more than seven (7) days before the start date of a course or webinar. A refund to the original payment method such as a credit card or cheque will be provided upon request only.

Full refunds will not be granted if the written withdrawal/transfer request is received seven  (7)  days or less before the start date. Extenuating exceptions may apply and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Once the materials for an e-learning course have been released, withdrawals are not permitted

Special terms and conditions apply to CPA Alberta conferences and Executive Programs.

 

Cancellations by CPA Alberta

CPA Alberta reserves the right to cancel courses. If a course is cancelled, registrants will receive a full refund or transfer. CPA Alberta is not liable for any financial losses as a result of the cancellation or incorrect contact information.

E-learning Courses

Once a registrant receives their login ID and password, or direct access to their e-learning courses, no refunds or substitutions will be granted.

Registration in an e-learning course is intended only for the person who has registered for the course. Sharing login credentials, content, files, material, resources, services and shared viewing are not permitted. 

 

Receipts and Confirmation

A confirmation and receipt is emailed upon registration. If you do not receive your confirmation prior to the course start date, please contact us at pdregistration@cpaalberta.ca. The confirmation notice is provided as a courtesy—all assessments apply whether or not a registrant receives a confirmation notice.

 

Meals

Unless otherwise stated, lunch and coffee breaks are provided at full-day in-person courses only. If you have allergies or special meal considerations (requirements, not preferences), please provide the information at the time of registration by managing your dietary needs in your profile on the PD portal. If insufficient notice is given, course venues may not be able to accommodate special meal requests.


Materials

CPA Alberta does not distribute printed copies of materials. You will receive an email one (1) business day prior to the course date directing you to access your online materials through the Learning Management System. You will have access to the material for up to 30 days after the course has ended.

Is there a subject that you can never find any information on? CPA Alberta is always looking to improve and develop PD content and would love to hear your ideas.
