Sarah Wells

Sarah doesn’t just talk about resilience—she lived it, hurdling over setbacks on her way to the Olympic Games.

An Olympic hurdler for Team Canada, Wells made her debut at the London 2012 Games after a remarkable comeback from a stress fracture in her left femur that sidelined her for nine months. She went on to compete at the 2013 Summer Universiade, earning silver in the 4 x 400m relay. Following another six-month setback due to the same injury, Sarah returned stronger than ever, capturing her fourth Canadian title in 2015 and winning two medals at the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games: silver in the 400m hurdles and bronze in the 4x400m relay.

With more than a decade of competition at the highest level, along with a master's degree in leadership and innovation from Smith School of Business, Wells blends compelling storytelling with research-backed strategies to help audiences unlock their potential. Her philosophy centres on the idea that excellence isn’t about perfection—it’s about breaking free from limiting beliefs and striving to outperform who you were yesterday.

Today, she is an in-demand keynote speaker, renowned for her practical strategies and belief that when you dare to break the blueprint, chase bold ideas, and do the small things exceptionally well, excellence becomes contagious. Sarah empowers audiences to transform challenges into opportunities, find their own excellence, and achieve lasting success.
