Founder,
Empowered Me
Harriet is a force for transformation. A barefoot ultramarathon runner, best-selling author, football official, keynote speaker, and Chartered Professional Accountant, she brings energy and authenticity to every room—including on the golf course, where she rather humorously admits her skills don’t match her enthusiasm.
As CEO of EmpoweredMe Inc., Harriet leads a team dedicated to helping individuals rebuild self-worth, elevate emotional intelligence, and grow with clarity and confidence—both personally and professionally.
After surviving a life-altering trauma, she chose not only to heal but to lead. Her story of resilience has made her a sought-after speaker, educator, and mentor across cultures and generations. Whether guiding students, corporate teams, or community leaders, Harriet helps others turn silent struggles into visible strength.
Her many accolades include the Global Woman of Vision Award, YWCA Woman of Distinction Award, Rotary Integrity Award, Diversity Woman of the Year Award, and the Alberta Newcomers Entrepreneurial Spirit Award, as well as a nomination for the RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Award.
Deeply committed to service, Harriet volunteers with the Gene Zwozdesky Centre’s end-of-life care unit and Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters and serves on the boards of the Canadian Multicultural Education Foundation and the TELUS Edmonton Community Board.
She describes her journey as a transformation “from tragic to magic.”
