Donate Securities Online

We are excited to announce that you can now donate publicly traded securities to the CPA Education Foundation through our secure online form. This is a fast and convenient way to make a meaningful contribution—and it may offer significant tax benefits.

Why Donate Securities?

By donating securities directly to the Foundation, you can:

  • Eliminate capital gains tax on appreciated investments
  • Receive a charitable tax receipt for the full fair market value of the donation
  • Help us support accounting education and professional excellence across Alberta
 

To make your donation:

  1. Complete the online Charitable Donation of Securities In Kind form.
  2. Enter your contact information, details about the securities being transferred, and your financial institution’s details.
  3. Electronically sign the authorization and submit the form.

Your information is secure and will be used solely to process your donation.

 

To receive a tax receipt for the current year, your donation must be received by the CPA Education Foundation before December 31.

We strongly recommend that you submit your donation by December 15 to ensure your securities are transferred in time.

Example:

If you complete the form on December 15, 2025, but the securities are not received until January 2, 2026, your donation will be receipted for 2026, not 2025.
