 CPA Alberta Give Blood - Blood Drive 2025

Donating blood is a simple yet profound act of kindness that can make a significant difference in someone's life.

Together with Canadian Blood Services, CPA Alberta is challenging all Alberta CPAs to come together and reach a collective goal of donating 100 units of blood by November 30.

Simply sign up with Canadian Blood Services using the CPA Alberta challenge ID number CHAR0090572.

Checklist and donation process

 

  1. Find out if you’re eligible
  2. Book an appointment
  3. Ensure you drink plenty of water, have a healthy meal, and are well-rested before your appointment
  4. Arrive and get started
    • Bring a valid government-issued ID and a full list of medications you’re taking
    • Complete a quick donor questionnaire and simple hemoglobin test at the appointment
  5. Donate
    • Feel free to read, chat with a staff member or other donors, or simply relax while giving blood
    • If you are feeling uncomfortable or worried, talk to a staff member, who will be keeping a close eye on you
  6. Relax and enjoy a snack in the refreshment area

  • Age: At least 17 years old.
  • Weight: At least 50 kilograms (110 lbs)
  • Frequency: 56–84 days between donations
  • Health: Some medical conditions affect your ability to donate
  • Piercings and tattoos: Wait three months
  • Pregnancy: Wait six months post-childbirth
  • Travel: Where you’ve been recently may affect your ability to donate

  • Select the “Partners” tab, and select “Join an Existing Team”
