
Sheila has more than 25 years of experience in risk management within regulated public and private organizations. Her work spans hospitality, financial services, non-profit associations and charities, mining, construction, water and power utilities, retail, industrial machinery, and post-secondary institutions.
She has led internal audit, enterprise risk management, and Canadian Securities Administrators National Instrument 52-109 certification programs, and continues to consult and contract in these areas. She currently serves as interim Chief Internal Auditor at Athabasca University.
Throughout her career, Sheila has supported leadership development for herself and others, and has practiced executive coaching professionally since 2016, working with leaders, managers, and executives to strengthen performance and judgment.
She serves as Board Chair of the McDougall House Association, a bed-based addiction treatment facility for women in Alberta.
