CPA Alberta stands with Black CPAs, candidates, and communities—as well as Indigenous peoples—across Alberta and Canada. We denounce racism in all of its forms, and racial inequality goes against everything the profession stands for and believes in. Our staff have been watching the global and provincial protests, listening to the vital dialogues that are happening everywhere, and learning from the personal experiences of Alberta CPAs and candidates, and CPA Alberta knows there is still so much for us to learn and do as a profession. We will never stop listening, learning, trying to be better, and doing more to support our Black and Indigenous members and candidates. Black and Indigenous lives matter, and we are committed to building a profession where Black and Indigenous voices and experiences—and those of all People of Colour—are heard, valued, respected, and celebrated.
