Career Development Mentorship

This program is for CPAs and candidates to develop a mentoring relationship that can lead to insights, opportunities, and improved skills to help you achieve your career goals. This program has two streams:

  • Career Development: Designed for CPAs, candidates, and students to reach their career goals
  • Foreign-Trained Professionals: Designed to help foreign-trained professionals establish their careers in Alberta

Commitment: 12-24 hours of interaction over one year (in-person, phone, and email)

Note: This program is not intended to meet the PER mentorship requirements. If you are a PEP Candidate or CPA looking to verify professional experience requirements, please refer to the PER Mentorship Program.

Please note that the CPA Career Development Mentorship Program is not the same as the Practical Experience Requirements (PER) Mentorship Program.

The PER Mentorship Program is the mandatory program for CPA Candidates to meet their practical experience requirements.

Mentors

  • Gain leadership skills while sharing your personal experiences and knowledge
  • Access new ideas and business concepts from a fresh perspective
  • Impact and inspire future business leaders
  • Mentor training workshops may be eligible for CPD hours

Mentees

  • Attain career guidance
  • Increase your knowledge of sectors and industries within the profession
  • Gain insights to Canadian workplace culture (for foreign-trained accounting professionals)
  • Develop your work-related soft-skills

Once you register, you will be provided with an estimated time for when a suitable match will be made and information about the next mandatory training session.
