Join your colleagues at an event on CPA Alberta's annual engagement tour and explore the next steps the CPA profession is addressing to ensure it is well-positioned to adapt to the Fourth Industrial Revolutionthe interface of humans with technology.

After months of in-person roundtables and online conversations across the country, Phase 1 of CPA Canada’s Foresight: Reimagining the Profession project is complete. The CPA Foresight project looked out to the year 2030, the resulting report, The Way Forward, presents insights from the initiative and makes urgent case for change.

Todd Scaletta FCPA, FCMA, CPA Alberta’s Senior Vice President, Foresight and Research, will lead a high-level PD session outlining some of the risks and opportunities professional accountants should be aware of in order to prosper in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world. In addition, Larry Brownoff CPA, CA, CPA Alberta’s Director of Member Engagement and Technical Advisory will review the wide-range of products and services available to equip Alberta CPAs for the future.

This session will provide insights into:

  • Trends around the key drivers of change for the future
  • Review of key findings from "The Way Forward" report
  • Understanding some plausible futures
  • Available resources that equip you for the future

The session may be eligible for up to 1.5 hours of professional development.

CPA Alberta is excited and pleased to welcome Todd Scaletta FCPA, FCMA as our new Senior Vice President, Foresight and Research. Formerly the CEO of CPA Manitoba, Todd will be leading much of our work in the areas of research and preparing the profession in Alberta for the future.

Todd has a long history with the profession. His initial involvement came as a volunteer, starting in 1988, before working within the profession in a variety of roles and organizations.

Prior to joining CPA Alberta, Todd was the President and CEO of CPA Manitoba, and also worked for CPA Canada. At CPA Canada, he worked in the Research, Guidance and Support department and represented CPA Canada on several international committees. Prior to those roles, Todd had 15 years’ experience working in industry (construction, real estate development, insurance and education). He also taught management accounting courses at the University of Manitoba (MBA and BComm programs), the University of Winnipeg, and MacEwan University. 


Larry 


Larry Brownoff CPA, CA is the Director, Member Engagement and Technical Advisory with CPA Alberta.

Prior to this role, Larry held various leadership roles within Robert Half International, where he specialized in senior finance and accounting recruitment, placement of senior project financial professionals and executive search. In addition to his decade of recruiting expertise, Larry brings 17 years of senior level industry experience, including financial and general management positions with public companies in a variety of industries. Larry began his career with Clarkson Gordon.

Larry has been active in many professional and community activities throughout his career. He is currently a Director of the FEI Edmonton Chapter, was a past Director, Chair and Vice Chair of the Board with the Goodwill Industries of Alberta and was a committee member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta with the Members in Industry Working Group and the Merit Review Committee.

Larry currently represents CPA Alberta on the Member Advisory Services Committee (MAS).
