The CPA profession is changing how the ACAF is delivered. Beginning January 2018, ACAF applied courses will no longer be offered through the CPA Western School of Business (CPAWSB). Select post-secondary institutions (PSIs) across Canada will begin delivering the full suite of ACAF courses, and CPAWSB will continue to offer the ACAF technical courses as part of CPA preparatory courses. If you are an ACAF student planning to take applied courses in January 2018, please contact CPA Alberta to discuss your options.
ACAF National Examination
The ACAF National Examination is a new program requirement that will become effective in 2018, and will be administered through the CPA provincial/regional bodies. Students who successfully complete all ACAF technical courses and the Business Applications course by December 2017 will be exempt from the exam.
- September 2017: Start of final semester for applied courses offered by the CPAWSB
- January 2018:
- ACAF program no longer to be delivered by CPAWSB
Although delivery of the ACAF program is being transitioned to PSI partners, its quality and scope will not change. And, CPAWSB students enrolled in ACAF as of December 31, 2017 will be seamlessly supported through the transition.
