CPA Assist Events

CPA Assist provides confidential 24/7 counselling to Alberta CPAs, candidates, and their immediate families.

CPA Assist is designed to help CPAs, candidates, and their immediate families address mental illness, addictive behaviours, substance abuse and other personal or professional issues in order to ensure their well-being and the well-being of their communities, the accounting profession, and the public.

Workplace Bullying Workshop

This workshop will support CPAs to identify and address workplace bullying, and learn about the skills and tools on how to create a bully-free environment. This workshop is intended to help those who may be experiencing bullying, but also to help CPAs and business leaders prevent these harmful behaviors in the workplace.

Participant training outcomes for the workshop include:

  • Understand legislative/societal/cultural factors related to bullying
  • Identify bullying behaviours and characteristics of a bully
  • Participants will demonstrate increased skill in addressing bullying – both reactively and proactively
  • Understand the links between bullying and wellness
  • Understand what how to create and support bully-free environments
  • Participants will understand where to seek further support, if necessary

Facilitator Wade King brings over 13 years of experience in Rights, Diversity, and Inclusion practice to his memorable presentations. He is the current Director of Safe Disclosure & Human Rights at the University of Alberta.
